…and I found some old t-shirt prints i did way-back-when. Check them out:

A hand-drawn man – a naked man.

The mark of the legendary web-magazine Gamen translating to The Vulture.

Skull.
I commute by ferry to work. It’s an half hour trip. I spend my time doodling. I try to do a doodle a day, but this one took me about three trips. Made with a mechanical pen with blue colour leads.

A few month ago I was contacted by a company intending to open a chocolate café in Kings Cross, Sydney called Chocola Café. They wanted an illustration to be printed on the wall in the café. The brief mentioned chocolate (of course) berries and romance. I did a quick sketch in pencil and emailed it to them with a quote. They liked it and wanted a new draft, along with a new quote for two illustrations.
This is the second draft I sent them. (pencil and coloured in Photoshop)

After this a long email exchange took place regarding new quotes. Totally I quoted them 6(!) times on different combinations of illustrations. It all ended with an email saying they decided to use another illustrator. I was a bit surprised but figured I unknowingly been involved in a pitch of some kind.
In the end the company reluctantly paid me a small sum for my work with the sketches.
The other day, by coincidence, I passed the café (not yet opened) and was very surprised to see that the other “illustrator” obviously had a very similar interpretation of the brief as I.
This is a photo taken from the street. What can I say…
